SWAT Team Finds A Scared Little Girl, So An Officer Sat Down To Play “Patty Cake” With Her

When an Ohio SWAT team raided an apartment looking for Juan Hamilton- who faces drug charges, was accused of stealing guns, and police say fled a traffic stop- they instead found a family with a little girl who was sleeping.

The little girl looked visibly shaken once she say the heavily armed men, but Officer Rob Campbell decided to sit down and see what he could do to comfort the child while the rest of his team searched the apartment. Their interaction did indeed calm the little girl down, and a fellow SWAT team member recorded the whole thing.

The officer is seen sitting on a couch and asking her if she could sing for him. After she sang a line, he told her she should be a singer, gave her a high five and told her good work. Then, she asked to play “Patty Cake” and the two played a round.

Police were eventually able to locate Hamilton as well.

Officers said situations like Officer Campbell’s happen everyday, but they usually don’t get the media attention.

Campbell says he hopes that little girl will grow up, trusting the boys in blue.
