Audrey Mark was shopping at a Target store in Wake County, North Carolina on Wednesday for some ham and headbands when she noticed some unusual activity going on- so she took a picture and posted in on her Facebook, along with a description of what she had seen.
A young nicely suited up teenager came into Target looking for a clip-on tie for a job interview that he was going to have that afternoon. However, Target employee Cathy Scott told him they only had regular ties.
Instead of leaving it at that, Cathy got her co-worker Dennis Roberts, who unwrapped a normal tie and showed the kid how to wear it, along with offering him some more wisdom. The boy tucked in his shirt, and Roberts showed him how to give a proper handshake, told him to make sure he looks his interviewer in the eyes, and prepped him for the job interview with some tough practice interview questions.
“He was saying, ‘Yes, ma’am and he was just soaking it all in,” said Scott, according to WTVD.
As the well-dressed young man exited the store, a bunch of supportive Target team members cheered him on, shouting, “Bye! Good luck! Tell us how it went!”
On Thursday the team went to the Chick-fil-A where the young man interviewed and asked the manager how things went. The manager said he was planning on making a decision by the end of the week.
The team, unfortunately, never got the young man’s name, but are hoping to hear back from him soon.
