Armed Man Stops Carjacking At A Georgia Car Wash

A carjacking was caught on surveillance video at a carwash in suburban Atlanta.

A woman was vacuuming her car Friday afternoon at Fast Track Car Wash in Smyrna, Georgia, when a teenager jumped out of the red mini van parked next to her, climbed behind the steering wheel of the woman’s car and started to drive off.

The woman jumped onto the hood, screaming for help, prompting the thief to speed up. Luckily, a local municipal employee with a concealed-carry license acted quickly and fired his gun through the driver’s side window, hitting the carjacker in the shoulder.

Witness Chris Roberts told Fox News, “The guy that got shot, he was falling out of the car and he was holding his chest. And he started shivering and shaking, and then he kind of flopped on the ground.”

The armed man held the carjacker at gunpoint until police arrived.

The suspect was transported to the hospital. He will be charged with felony aggravated assault and misdemeanor theft by taking of a motor vehicle.
