Before the Houston Rockets took on the Dallas Mavericks for game two of the opening round of the NBA playoffs on Tuesday (and won), 12-year-old Nicholas Connors stepped up to the mic to sing the national anthem — and he absolutely crushed it.
His rendition was so amazing that Houston Texans’ defensive lineman J.J. Watt was so moved that he felt compelled to leave his seat to rush onto the court and give Connors a hug and congratulate him.
The look on Connors’ face after he realized who had just rushed the court to meet him was priceless.
The 12-year-old has become a staple at Houston sporting events, and while he was sick Tuesday night, he still dominated the National Anthem with his rendition.
Watt sent out a tweet Wednesday night in an attempt to meet up with Connors.
