A new undercover video released by pro-life organization The Center for Medical Progress on Tuesday includes graphic depictions of a technician sorting through the tissue collected after an abortion.
The video shows footage of a physician in a laboratory talking with an actor posing as a purchaser of tissue samples.
“I think the per-item [pricing] works a little better, just because we can see how much we can get out of it,” she said. The physician is identified as Dr. Savita Ginde, who is vice president and medical director of Planned Parenthood of the Rocky Mountains in Denver.
Also included is an interview with a woman who says she used to work at Stem Express, in a Planned Parenthood clinic to help the organization harvest and sell body parts from aborted babies.
Warning: The video below is very graphic.
“I thought I was going to be just drawing blood, not procuring tissue from aborted fetuses,” Holly O’Donnell, the former procurement technician, said in the video.
“We were asked to procure certain tissues like brain, livers, thymus, pancreas, heart, lungs, and pretty much anything on the fetus. It’s basically a huge trafficking of fetal tissues,” she explained. “StemExpress is a company that hires procurement techs to draw blood and dissect dead fetuses and sell the parts to researchers.”
O’Donnell discussed in great detail the process by which StemExpress and Planned Parenthood work to harvest the most valuable organs and parts from aborted babies. On her first day, O’Donnell witnessed her colleagues placing cut up baby parts in “pie dishes” and passing them around for review.
Upon seeing and touching the aborted baby parts, “I could feel death and pain shoot up my body,” O’Donnell said.
O’Donnell said that she was asked to take the tweezers and use them to identify fetal body parts, which she started to do before blacking out and waking up in a recovery room inside the clinic — the first time in her life that she said she experienced true anxiety.
“I blacked out basically,” she said.
O’Donnell added, “For whatever we could procure, (Planned Parenthood) would get a certain percentage. The main nurse was always trying to make sure we got our specimens. No one else really cared, but the main nurse did because she knew that Planned Parenthood was getting compensated.”
Earlier Tuesday, Dawn Laguens, the executive vice president of Planned Parenthood, told Alisyn Camerota on CNN’s “New Day” that the organization does not profit from the same of fetal tissue.
“I say that unequivocally,” Laguens said. “We do not make a profit on fetal tissue.”
The video has been released in the midst of Republicans in Congress fighting for Planned Parenthood to be stripped of federal funding. In the push to defund the organization, congressional panels have also announced investigations into Planned Parenthood practices.
Planned Parenthood has maintained that they have done nothing illegal and the first two videos were highly edited and deceptive.
